Police arrest suspect in Walnut Hills shooting

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati police are investigating a fatal double-shooting in Walnut Hills that killed one individual Friday afternoon.

Police say two individuals were shot in the 2500 block of Park Avenue near the Alms apartments in Walnut Hills around 1:45 p.m.

Christopher L. Williams, 24, was found dead at the scene. A second victim, whose name has not been released by police, is being treated for non life-threatening injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Police say a third victim was also involved in the shooting, but it is not clear if that individual suffered injuries at this time.

After the shooting police say the suspect fled the scene in a blue Chevrolet Impala which was located by authorities in Eden Park. The suspect was arrested in the park shortly after.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Omar Jackson, 29, and charged him with murder and two counts of felonious assault.

Jackson will be arraigned in a Hamilton County courtroom Saturday at 9 a.m.

No other details have been released in this case.
