Police identify suspect in Christmas Day Westwood shooting

CINCINNATI - A woman was killed in a Christmas Day shooting in Westwood and police have identified a suspect believed to be involved.

An arrest warrant for Byron Frazier, 27, was issued Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at approximately 7:40 p.m. Tuesday outside a home in the 3000 block of Penrose Avenue.

Police say they found the 20-year-old victim, Kyila Shields, dead when they arrived at the scene.

A man was also shot in the incident and sent to UC Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head. Police said Wednesday he was treated and released with non life-threatening injuries. His idenity has not been released.

Police say the suspect fled the location in a Hyundai. Police believe the shooting might be tied to an incident at Westwood-Northern Boulevard.

Extra units were also called to the scene to control a crowd that gathered around the shooting scene.
