CINCINNATI - Thousands waited in line outside the Sacred Heart Church on Massachusetts Avenue in Camp Washington Sunday morning to get their pots and hands on a traditional Italian dinner.
The annual church fundraiser dates back 101 years. Volunteers prepare homemade ravioli and spaghetti and meatball dinners.
"It's just a little dinner," joked Ron Panioto with Sacred Heart Church. "We only do 23,000 meatballs, about 1800 gallons of sauce and about 350 thousand raviolis. That's all we do."
The fundraiser helps with the maintenance and upkeep for the church.
Dinners will continue on Sunday until they run out of food. A ravioli dinner or spaghetti dinner will cost you $12. Meatballs are 5 for $4.
The church holds the event twice a year. The next one is in the fall.
