Huhtamaki holds hiring event in Batavia

BATAVIA TWP., Ohio - Huhtamaki is now hiring workers at its new plant in Batavia Township.

The Finnish company, which specializes in global food packaging, is looking to fill machinist, packaging and warehouse positions.

A hiring event is set for Friday at Workforce One in Clermont County. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 756 Old State Route 74. A similar event will be held Friday, March 29.

All applications must be completed in the office so job seekers are asked to bring along their driver's license, a copy of their resume and a list of references.

Descriptions of the positions are listed below:

Machine Operator
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Pay: $11.50 per hour plus a $0.25 shift differential

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate various forming machines
  • Perform minor machine maintenance
  • Maintain department cleanliness
  • Lift ring stock rolls and cases
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift schedule
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Education/Experience requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical requirements: Employee will work in a manufacturing environment. Must be able
up to 40 lbs. Standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, push/pull, reach above
shoulders a great amount of time and hand/finger dexterity required.

Packer
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Pay: $10.50 per hour plus a $0.25 shift differential
Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Set up and organize work area with boxes, bags, tape and misc. supplies
  • Data entry of production transactions
  • Move and stage product to be packaged in work area
  • Place designated quantity of blanks into cartons or gaylords and sealing carton or Gaylord
  • Visually inspect product for defects while packaging
  • Label completed cartons or Gaylord and stack on pallet
  • Prepare completed pallet for shipping
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift schedule
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company guidelines
Warehouse Material Handler
Shift: 12 hour shifts
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Move material through facility with the use of material handling equipment(i.e. forklift, pallet jack, etc.) as required
  • Use the computer to dispense and receive information such as product codes, part numbers, quantities,locations, comments, etc.
  • Complete paperwork to properly document work performed
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Conduct material audits
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and grasp materials
  • General housekeeping in warehouse
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience requirements:
  • GED or high school diploma preferred
  • Forklift experience in a manufacturing environment
  • BPCS experience helpful
