CINCINNATI -- The spotlight shone bright on Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine Wednesday as crews from “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” hosted by Guy Fieri filmed at both Bakersfield OTR and The Taste of Belgium.
The food focused show typically centers around a specific food theme within a road trip type visit to an American city. Fieri created a bit of social media stir when he was spotted on Vine Street.
Julie Niesen Gosdin, a WCPO contributor, grabbed this shot of Fieri's car parked on the side of the road.
"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" began airing on Food Network in 2007.
Locally, Bakersfield OTR and Taste of Belgium have garnered positive attention and reviews from locals on websites such as Yelp.
Bakersfield OTR was opened in 2012 by John and Joe Lanni. It serves Mexican-influenced street food such as tacos, with a focus on tequila and whiskey from the bar.
Taste of Belgium’s menu is reflected in its name, growing in popularity initially when Jean-Francois Flechet began selling Belgian waffles in 2007 before moving into its Vine Street location in 2011.
Most recently Taste of Belgium made headlines when it hosted a World Cup viewing party as Belgium beat the US Soccer team in Brazil.
The exact air date for the episode starring the Vine Street eateries has not been released. It was also unclear what other eateries Fieri would be visiting for the upcoming episode.
