CINCINNATI - An inspiring run took place at Sawyer Point that served as a real confidence booster for young girls.
More than 800 pre-teens and their family members took part in the 6th annual Girls on the Run Of Greater Cincinnati. The event marks the end of a 10 week program by the non profit organization that teaches girls how to be healthy and build self esteem while also including running.
"One of the great things about our race is that we have over 50 volunteers that work to make it fun. So we have tiara decorating for the girls, eye decals, face painting, we do the whole 9 yards," said Erin Hamilton, Executive Director of the Girls on the Run of Greater Cincinnati. "It's more like a party and celebration than it is a race."
The organization is always looking for volunteers to mentor young girls. For more information, click here .
