COLD SPRING, Ky. - A Fort Thomas firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries after responding to a house fire sparked by a Wednesday afternoon lightning strike.
The Fort Thomas fire department responded to the call of a blaze in neighboring Cold Spring, Ky. around 4:45 p.m. When they arrived on scene smoke was pouring out of the attic of the house. It was then determined lightning likely ignited the blaze.
According to authorities on the scene a piece of drywall fell on the responder as he tried to put out the fire.
