DEERFIELD TWP, Ohio - Crews battled a two-alarm fire inside a Deerfield Township apartment complex Monday evening.

The fire began just before 10:15 p.m. in the third story of the Stonebridge Apartments, located in the 4900 block of Bridge Lane.

Police say all residents were safely evacuated and no one was injured during the incident.

A male resident was transported to a hospital, but for medical reasons that may not be related to the fire, according to officials on the scene.

Authorities told 9 On Your Side a total of 12 units were affected, two of which were completely burned out by the flames.

Firefighters managed to quickly contain the flames, but it is not clear how the fire started at this time.

The fire remains under investigation.
