ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

An Anderson Township family is looking for a place to stay after a fire early Saturday morning.

The fire broke out at about 4 a.m. at a home in the 8000 block of Pine Terrace Drive.

Fire officials said they believe the fire started in the laundry room of the home, which is directly behind the family's garage.

The fire chief said the owner of the home woke up at about 4 a.m. to the smell of smoke. The homeowner told fire crews that when he came down from the second floor, he found the first floor was flooded with smoke.

The man was able to wake up his family and get them to safety.

Firefighters said they could see smoke billowing out of the home when they first got to the scene.

The home sustained significant damage to the laundry room and adjacent rooms.

The Red Cross was called out to help the family.

No injuries have been reported and crews are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.

A damage estimate has not been released.
