STONELICK TWP, Ohio - he body of a 2-year-old boy who drowned in a Stonelick Township pool over the weekend has been taken to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office for an autopsy and forensic tests.
Clermont County Sheriff A.J. Rodenberg says Jared Lee Tincher, 2, died after family members found him unresponsive in a pool Sunday morning. Emergency crews responded to the 2900 block of Jackson Pike in Stonelick Township around 8 a.m. after receiving reports that a child was not breathing.
Family members told sheriff's department that Tincher was found in a pool that sits behind the home.
Emergency crews rushed Tincher to Clermont Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"We have no information or evidence at this time that the death of Jared was anything other than a tragic accident and there is no indication of foul play," Rodenberg stated in a press release.
Bonnie Eversole lives across the street and could hear screams coming from her neighbor's yard Sunday morning.
"At first, I didn't know where the screams were coming from. Then when I came out here, it was 'Oh my God, Oh my God' and noticed it came from over there," Eversole said. "A few minutes later the sheriff's and ambulance come flying down the road."
Eversole says the incident hits close to home since she cares for her two young grandchildren, who are 2 and 3.
"It just takes a minute. It really does. A 3-year-old can unlock the door here," Eversole said. "So it's really scary."
Authorities may release information Monday about the case and what led to Tincher's death.
