Tyler Rickett ranks fourth in class at Elder High School and is this week's Student of the Week!
Rickett is taking several AP courses to prepare him for college and is committed to athletics and his community, spending part of his time volunteering to help others.
Rickett is a student ambassador and a member of the Philanthropy club. He’s also a member of the National Honor Society.
He shares his love of learning with other students through the student tutor program.
Rickett donates time to help in Over-The-Rhine.
"I like seeing the finished product and I like that sense of accomplishment you get after you achieve something and seeing that you've accomplished a lot," said Rickett.
"If I could have 950 Tylers here (at Elder High School), that'd be perfect. Kids that involved in everything and challenge themselves in the classroom. They do things outside the classroom, whether it be service or sports or clubs. Just always on campus, guys that just want to give back and kind of pay it forward," said J.P. Owens, Director of Admissions and Marketing at Elder.
Tyler still has a few months before graduation and knows he wants to study aerospace engineering, he just doesn’t know where.
Congratulations, Tyler! You are our Student of the Week!
