This week’s Student of the Week is a senior at Lebanon High School.
Sarah Painter ranks ninth in her class of 460 students and maintains a 4.255 weighted grade point average. It’s not only in the classroom where Sarah shines. She is the senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society.
She is also an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America. Sarah lets her voice be heard through the Lebanon Singers Show Choir and also finds time for Young Life, a Christian organization for teens. "She cares,” says Bunny Brooks, the College Planning Instructor and College and Career Readiness Coordinator at Lebanon High School. “She cares about her peers, she cares about the people in this building, she cares about her community.” Even with her rigorous schedule, she still finds time to help out in the community. "We do trick-or-treat for cans, which we go around every Halloween and instead of collecting candy, we collect canned food for the local food pantry,” Sarah said. "It's great for our community to see students like Sarah,” said Brooks. “Sarah helps inspire her classmates and it's great to see someone who is personally involved in the community and academically involved in the building.”
