Student of the Week: KeAndre Smith

CINCINNATI -- KeAndre Smith may only be a junior at Mt. Healthy Jr./Sr. School, but he’s in a class of his own. Smith ranks fifth among juniors, with a 4.27 G.P.A.

Smith is a four-sport athlete who enjoys soccer, football, track and bowling.

Besides excelling at school and sports, KeAndre’s true love is helping others. He donates time with Habitat For Humanity and at the Ronald McDonald House.

Smith is also a junior ambassador, in which he mentors junior school students.

"I have little siblings of my own, and I guess that's the caretaker state of mind that I have, so just to see somebody grow up and be successful, that's I what I like to see," said Smith.

His teachers will tell you no one works harder than KeAndre.
"He is one of those students who is a fantastic example of what Mt. Healthy pride really is and it's important for him to be utilized with our junior high kids because they can use him as a role model for what they should be doing when they also get to that same spot," said Angie Fisher, a guidance counselor at Mt. Healthy High School.
