Chzarlotte Corpuz is a junior at Simon Kenton High School. Corpuz maintains a 3.96 grade-point-average and ranks 32nd out of 408 students, but it's what she does outside of class that makes the biggest difference in her community. Corpuz gives back in a number of ways including being a member of the National Honor Society, and the Future Farmers of America. Chzarlotte also devotes time to mentoring elementary students. She also helps others through the 12 Days of Giving Committee for the school’s student council. Corpuz also helped families devastated by the 2012 tornadoes that destroyed Piner, Ky. "It really changed my outlook on everything. Not to take your life for granted and be grateful for everything you have... It's great to know that I was a part of that, just to help them rebuild their community one step at a time," said Corpuz. "She is so respectful and thoughtful and she thinks of other people before herself," adds Christine Hoerlein, a teacher at Simon Kenton. "Chzarlotte is a positive leader who gets things done." Corpuz helps to run a booth every Saturday at Simon Kenton's Farmer's Market. She helps with Summit View Middle School’s Fall Festival, is active in her church as an alter server and makes sandwiches for a homeless shelter. She also volunteers with Kids Voting.
