CINCINNATI -- Our first student of the week for the 2013-2014 school year hails from the Westside of Cincinnati.
Isabelle Murray maintains a 4.0 GPA at Taylor High School in Cleves.
Murray is also a devoted swimmer, who spends a great deal of her time in the water. That isn’t holding her back from being a leader and a role model to her fellow students.
"I don't try to be, I just try to be the best that I can be,” said Murray.
Her teachers will tell you, Murray is a hard worker and is a pleasure to have in class.
"She got perfection, top of the class. She never stops, she's always going. She's got a great drive," said her eighth grade teacher, Bryan Kestner.
Here is a little of what Kestner said about Isabelle in his nomination, “While in school -- Izzie works hard to keep straight A’s and be the example for other students to follow. She is amazingly kind to everyone she encounters (classmates, younger students, and all of the faculty and staff at school) and assists other students in my class who are not as gifted as she is. Izzie has earned a perfect grade in my class for the entire year -- she is perfect on her tests and provides great information and insight as well. Not only does Izzie work hard to be the best, she also does it with a smile on her face and is always laughing. She enjoys school and gives it her best every day.”
Graduation may be four years away for this standout student, but right now she plans to swim in college and study marine biology.
