BATAVIA, Ohio - Our latest student of the week is the first from his high school to win the honor. He's proud not only for himself, but that he can bring the award to Batavia High School.
Hunter Meadors is a triple threat. He's a great student, a star athlete, and is a leader in the community.
Meadors is at the top of his class academically, with a 3.8 weighted GPA. He's a member of the Business Professionals of America, President of the National Honor Society and is the captain of both the football and baseball teams.
"It's pretty tough to juggle everything and get, the key is just time management, is working on what needs to be done when it should be done. That's all I really focus on," said Meadors.
Angie Kovacs with Batavia High School and the Great Oaks Satellite Program says Meadors is a model for students.
"He's a phenomenal role model. He not only tells people what they should do, he shows them how they should be acting and he models the behavior we expect from our students," Kovacs said.
In addition to Business Professionals of America, Meadors serves as the President of the National Honor Society and is a captain on the varsity football and baseball teams. He also maintains an internship and a part-time job.
"I want them to see me as somebody they can be comfortable with and any issue they have, they can come talk to me. Whether they need help with school, outside of school, whether they need help in a sport, or anything, I just want them to be comfortable enough to come up and say 'Hunter I need some help, could you help me out?' I just want to be the most dependable person I can be," Meadors said.
Congratulations on being named student of the week.
