Donations, supplies still needed for tornado victims in Tri-State

CINCINNATI - The outpouring of donations for victims of the March 2 tornadoes has been overwhelming, according to David Greutman, the donation manager of the Tri-County Tornado Recovery Center. However, more donations are still needed.

The center, located at the Red Barn Market in Batavia, says the following items are needed for storm victims in the Tri-State: cleaning supplies, work gloves, shovels, rakes, bed frames, new mattresses and box springs, couches, chairs, kitchen sets, lamps, end tables, dehumidifiers, washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves, household cleaning items, televisions, towels and bed linens.

The Tri-County Tornado Recovery Center is not accepting food or clothing.

Families in need of assistance following the March storms should contact Bev Hurlburt with the long-term recovery committee, Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (513) 732-7411.

To drop off donated items or to volunteer, call (513) 404-8887 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. You can also email the center at
