HEBRON, Ky. - A major investment at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport gets off the ground Wednesday morning.
DHL is adding 280 jobs and investing $47 million in a new sorting facility at its CVG hub. The company says an increase in international business is the primary driving force.
The project will create a nearly 200,000 square foot sorting facility.
"In Northern Kentucky, this region is known as one of the largest cargo hubs in North America, so it increases our capacity and also makes us attractive. So there are a lot of good things that come from this," said Steve Stevens, President of the Northern Kentucky Chamber Of Commerce.
Stevens went on to say that efforts are still being made to increase passenger service at CVG, but a boost in cargo flights is also a good sign for the airport.
