Widmer juror believed body was moved

LEBANON, Ohio - Convicted murderer Ryan Widmer will now serve his prison sentence closer to home after being moved Thursday.

Prison officials moved Widmer, 30, from the facility in Orient, Ohio where he was being acclimated to prison life. The Hamilton Township man will nowl serve his time in the Warren Correctional Institution in Lebanon.

In his third trial in February, a jury found Widmer guilty of murder in the August 2008 drowning death of his wife Sara.

A jury convicted Widmer of killing his wife of four months in 2009. That conviction was later overturned due to juror misconduct. His second trial ended in a hung jury.

Warren County Judge Neal Bronson rejected Widmer's request for a fourth trial or an acquittal last month. His defense plans to appeal.

Widmer is serving 15 years to life in prison.
