HAMILTON, Ohio – Police in Michigan arrested a Fairfield man and seized more than 6 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones announced Thursday.

Buddy Parker, 36, transported 5 pounds of crystal meth from Ohio to Kalamazoo, Michigan, according to the announcement. When police arrested him, they found he was armed with a loaded handgun. When officers searched his vehicle, they found two more handguns and $5,000 cash.

When officers searched Parker’s apartment, they found another pound of crystal meth and an assault rifle, three handguns, a bulletproof vest and $10,000 cash, according to deputies.

“We are glad this guy is in custody,” Sgt Jason Owens said.

Owens estimated the street value of the seized drugs was about $300,000.

Parker was being held in Kalamazoo County Jail. He was charged with delivery of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute and felon in possession of a firearm.

“A large seizure of weapons, drugs and money is always a good day for law enforcement,” Jones said.
