CINCINNATI -- A suspect charged with the shooting death of a Sedamsville man in July is being held on $500,000 bond after his arraignment Friday.
The shooting took place in the 900 block of Delhi Road on July 23, according to officers.
Police say 29-year-old Michael Hopkins died of gunshot wounds and another person was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Rayshawn Hart, 21, was arrested on Oct. 30 and charged with aggravated murder.
Following the shooting, Sedamsville residents expressed concerns about the rise in violence in their neighborhood.
"If it's a gunshot or fire rackers, my babies know how to lay on the ground. They've grown accustomed to it. It's always over here," said Michera Taylor, a mother of three children.
Taylor said she hoped others would speak out and help police find those responsible for Hopkins' death.
"It's other people who live over here that won't speak out or say something, when they could be next."
Resident Bianca Grant says she's worried about her two young boys being exposed to violence.
"It don't matter where you live, it's how you live and that's what I'm trying to invest in my kids."
