Police looking for suspect after firecrackers prompt brief lockdown at Florence Mall

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Police are looking for a male suspect they say set off firecrackers at the Florence Mall food court at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, causing a brief lockdown.

Bystanders mistook the explosions as gunfire and called the police, who say they arrived within one minute. Witnesses told police the man fled from the mall.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing a peach or pink polo shirt, gray shorts and white tennis shoes.
