GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A mother who police say overdosed on heroin with her boyfriend at a McDonald's play area in Green Township will spend 180 days in jail.
Tamica Jeffers pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment Monday in Hamilton County court after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.
In exchange, prosecutors dropped a second charge of child endangerment.
The 33-year-old Jeffers, of Dillsboro, Ind., wept in court as she denied ever using heroin, telling Judge Fanon Rucker that she had a seizure after her boyfriend, Robert Palmer, overdosed March 9 in a McDonald's indoor play area.

The couple was with her two children, a 6-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy, at the time. Green Twp. police said Jeffers and Palmer collapsed in front of the children.
Jeffers was conscious, but unresponsive when she was found in the restaurant, according to the affidavit from the Hamilton County Municipal Court. The drug use resulted in a life-threatening overdose.
"It's an unusual set of circumstances," Chief Bart West said. "I've never heard of a case where we had kids in a restaurant like this where someone overdosed on heroin.
On Monday, Rucker sentenced Jeffers to six months in jail, with credit for 132 days.
Jeffers' boyfriend, 37-year-old Robert Palmer, was sentenced to six months last week.
