LEBANON, Ohio -- A maintenance worker who hid cameras inside bathrooms in women's apartments was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday.

Last May, a woman living at the Steeplechase Apartments in Deerfield Township contacted law enforcement after she found a hidden camera mounted in her bathroom vent, according to Prosecutor David Fornshell.

Detectives from the Warren County Sheriff's Office found videos from four other women's apartments that indicated cameras had been mounted to capture their bathroom activities. The videos showed the women "in states of undress," according to Fornshell.

Gerald Rowe, 66, of Milford, was a maintenance man at the apartments. One of the videos showed his face while installing the camera.

The victims were between 24 and 34 years old.

"Rowe violated the sanctity of those young women's homes, all for his own personal perversions," Fornshell previously said.

Rowe pleaded guilty in January to five counts of voyeurism and five counts of burglary.

After Rowe is released from prison, he will have to register as a Tier I sexual offender and report once per year for 15 years.
