DRY RIDGE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police are seeking help in identifying a cold case homicide victim after receiving a digitally enhanced photo of the victim from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

The body of a man who was about 20-30 years old, 6’4” and 220 pounds was found April 9, 1989 in a tobacco barn on KY-22 in Grant County, state police said.

The body was partially decomposed and both hands had been severed off.

Investigators found the homicide had occurred elsewhere, but did not determine the location.

State police said they hoped the new image would help in identifying the victim and further the investigation.

They asked anyone with information to call Kentucky State Police at 859-428-1212.
