GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A carjacking Wednesday led to a high-speed chase and a crash with a public works truck in Cincinnati, according to a news release from the Green Township Police Department.

Police said the suspected thief, a juvenile, stole a car at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Glenway Avenue Home Depot. Although nearby deputies pursued, the suspect fled at high speeds, weaving in and out of traffic, and did not stop until a collision with a Cincinnati Public Works vehicle left the stolen car too damaged to continue.

The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, has been charged with felony fleeing and eluding. According to the news release, the Cincinnati Police Department plans to file additional charges.

The suspect was not injured by the crash, but the driver and passenger of the truck were taken to Mercy West Hospital to be examined.
