ELMWOOD PLACE, Ohio -- An Elmwood Place man was arrested and accused of attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend Monday, according to a news release from the Elmwood Place Police Department.
Authorities said they responded Monday morning to a reported shooting at a home on Maple Avenue; when they arrived, they found the victim fleeing from the home with a gunshot wound in her leg and Jeremy Jamile Stewart inside. According to the news release, Stewart admitted to pushing in an AC unit in a front window and entering the home to shoot his ex-girlfriend.
Stewart has been charged with felonious assault and attempted murder, both of which are first-degree felonies.
