CINCINNATI -- A man convicted in a 2013 fatal shooting in Mount Airy appeared in a Hamilton County courtroom Wednesday where he was sentenced to nine years behind bars.
Demetrius Dennis, 23, was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and having weapons while under disability after police found Cedrick Taylor, 42, dead at the Providence Point apartments in the 5800 block of Renee Court on April 8, 2013.
Taylor was shot in the abdomen and found in front of the apartment building.
Dennis apologized in court to Taylor's family, saying if he could go back and change things he would.
Dennis has already served more than 200 days in jail that will count towards his sentence.
