16-year-old charged with pointing gun at officer to appear in court
CINCINNATI -- A teenager charged after a covert operation to track down a group of Craigslist scammers in Colerain Township led to a gun pointed at an officers head is scheduled to appear in a Hamilton County courtroom Monday to either enter a plea or set a date for trial.
The incident happened on March 28 when officers from the Colerain Department Investigative Unit were looking for suspects they said would rob Craigslist users after luring them to a spot in North College Hill with an advertisement to buy cellphones and laptops.
During the undercover operation, Sgt. Scott Owen said 16-year-old Jarred Shearer pointed a gun at his head.
