Man charged in Damon Cure's shooting death scheduled for arraignment
CINCINNATI -- A man charged with murder after a gun battle left one man dead in South Fairmount is scheduled to appear in a Hamilton County courtroom Wednesday for arraignment.
Damon Cure, 36, died after police found him in the 2100 block of Queen City Avenue on July 25. Cure was pronounced dead at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
A second gunshot victim, Alex Penland, 43, found on Queen City Avenue was also transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. By Saturday morning, Penland was charged with murder for the death of Cure.
The shooting between the two men happened shortly before 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Golden Nugget Restaurant, which is near the intersection of Wyoming and Queen City avenues.
Penland is expected to appear in court at 9 a.m.
