Cincinnati police arrest 2 teenagers in connection with 2 separate Avondale homicides

Third person arrested in William Moritz homicide

CINCINNATI -- Two juveniles are in police custody and are accused of killing two men in separate homicides.

Cincinnati police said the teenagers face murder charges in the deaths of 45-year-old William Moritz and 35-year-old Deshawn Hutchinson.

Cincinnati police also arrested Antonio Ruff, 18, on Wednesday, and charged him in connection to the death of Moritz. The two juveniles were apprehended Tuesday.

Police said Moritz died after being shot just after noon on Jan. 20 on Irving Street. Moritz and one other victim were shot while sitting in their vehicle. Arrest reports indicate the pair was shot during a robbery attempt.

Officers said the second victim was treated and released from University of Cincinnati Medical Center but Moritz succumbed to his injuries.

Hutchinson was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 3600 block of Irving Street late Monday night. He was pronounced dead on arrival at UCMC.

Both of the shootings happened in the same block of Irving Street.
