Bobby Grant: Man sentenced to 13 years behind bars in 2010 motel homicide

CINCINNATI -- A man who pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 2010 homicide at a motel bar was sentenced to thirteen years in prison.

Bobby Grant, 32, was arrested nearly two years after a shooting left a man dead.

The shooting happened on Dec. 23, 2010 at the Pit Stop Lounge inside the Budget Host Inn, located in the 3300 block of Central Parkway.

Rickey Lummus, 28, was shot inside the bar and pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was shot and treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

A Hamilton County grand jury indicted Grant on one count each of murder, having a weapon while under disability, having a weapon in a liquor establishment and felonious assault.

In a plea agreement, Grant said he was guilty of voluntary manslaughter and having a weapon while under disability.

The murder and assault charge were dismissed.

At his sentencing Monday, Grant was given a total sentence of thirteen behind bars.
