MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Butler County authorities broke up an apparent drug sale and seized a pound of crystal methamphetamine Tuesday.

Officers with the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce saw the two men in what appeared to be a drug transaction in the parking lot of the Roosevelt Boulevard Auto Zone, Sheriff Richard Jones announced.

Task force officers arrested the driver, 33-year-old Francisco Torres-Davila, and the passenger, 27-year-old Ramon Sanchez-Reyes, and found a pound of meth in the back seat of the vehicle. The meth was enough for more than 3,600 doses, authorities said.

Both men had entered the country illegally, according to Jones.

Torres-Davila and Sanchez-Reyes were each charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs. They were being held in the Middletown City Jail.

Authorities also seized a 2008 Dodge truck and $1,000 cash.
