DAYTON, Ohio (AP) – Police in a city north of Dayton say one man is dead and an officer was injured in a shootout.
The gun battle between authorities and a shooting suspect in the city of Troy broke out early Sunday morning.
Police say officers and Miami County Sheriff's deputy traded shots with the suspect after finding him an alley.
Troy Police Capt. Chris Anderson tells the Dayton Daily News that the suspect was killed and an officer was struck in the leg.
He says police were responding to reports of a shooting when they found a shooting victim and then saw the suspect nearby.
Anderson says the initial shooting victim was transported to a hospital.
