Police are looking for the driver of a blue pick-up truck involved in a hit-and-run with a horse drawn carriage Saturday evening.

Covington Police Chief Spike Jones confirmed the incident happened Saturday as a carriage was crossing the Roebling Bridge from Cincinnati into Covington.

According to an incident report, a truck struck the carriage, flinging the carriage driver onto the metal grates of the bridge. The horse and carriage continued driverless across the bridge, where the horse finally stopped. The driver of the pick-up continued into Covington without stopping to report the incident.

Jones said investigators were reviewing security camera footage from the bridge concerning the incident.

The carriage driver was not sent to the hospital. The horse involved did receive cuts and bruises.
