CINCINNATI - Eyes are said to be a distinguishing feature, and one local 1-year-old has some of the most beautiful eyes in the state.
Throughout September online voters picked their favorite eyes and 1-year-old, Alexis Clark, not only had the most Ohio votes but also had the most votes overall.
However, the competition is not over for Alexis. She now advances to the final round of judging, where celebrity judges will decide the grand prize winner along with second and third place.
The judges include broadcast icon Larry King, Derrek Lee of the Pittsburgh Pirates and NASA astronaut Walter Cunningham.
She will be up against other state winners. "The Most Beautiful Eyes" contest was open to all children under the age of 17.
The national winner of the "Most Beautiful Eyes Contest" will receive a $25,000 college scholarship and will be the face of the "Star Pupils" program for one year.
The "Most Beautiful Eyes Contest" is sponsored by Prevent Blindness America. It draws attention to the importance of healthy vision for children. Eighty percent of what a child learns is through their gift of sight and seeing the blackboard and the words on a page are critical.
