Benefit planned for Florence murder victim's family

Woman killed at NKy business identified

FLORENCE, Ky. - When Michelle Mockbee was found murdered at her Florence workplace on May 29 she left behind a husband and two children.

Mockbee's body was found at the Thermo Fisher Scientific facility, located at 7383 Empire Drive.

Boone County Sheriff's Deputies say Mockbee was assaulted near the office area of the building. Officials did not find a weapon at the scene.

Police say Mockbee, a Fort Mitchell resident, left her residence around 6 a.m. to go to work. She was an employee with Thermo Fisher Scientific for 16 years.

Her family is organizing an event aimed at benefiting the children she left behind.

The event is being held at the Buffalo Wings and Rings, located at 2440 High street in Crescent Springs, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
