COLERAIN, Ohio - The six-month grace period on the statewide law against texting while driving expires March 1.
For that reason, AT&T is hosting an event Monday, Feb. 25 at Colerain High School that will allow students to use an automobile-based texting-while-driving simulator to discourage texting while driving.
State Rep. Lou Blessing and people from the State Highway Patrol and AAA will speak with students about the texting ban. The event will also feature a 10-minute video documentary that tells stories of individuals and families involved in texting-while-driving tragedies.
Students in attendance will be asked to take an online pledge that they will not text behind the wheel.
The event will be held in various rooms in the school from 7:40 a.m. until 2:40 p.m.
