LOCKLAND, Ohio -- A Lockland police officer who recently returned to work after recovering from injuries he suffered during a chase this past year was involved in yet another pursuit.
Brandon Gehring and another officer were called to an address on Dunn Street Tuesday night for a report of a woman blowing her horn and screaming. Their investigation revealed that 31-year-old Robyn Oliver was in a fight with her ex-girlfriend.
When Officer Gehring asked Oliver to leave or she would be arrested, she allegedly started yelling again. At that point, according to police, Oliver backed her vehicle onto the curb, "slammed it into drive" and took off.
Officer Gehring chased Oliver for six blocks. Police say she ran two stop lights and reached speeds of up to 60 mph.
Oliver was taken into custody minutes later on Smalley Road. Oliver, who is from Colerain Township, is charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, reckless operation, and failure to comply.
In April, Officer Gehring was throwing down stop sticks on I-75 trying to stop a police chase when he was hit by a West Chester officer. He required several months of rehabilitation and returned to the force on October 13.
