NEWPORT, Ky. -- The face of Newport on the Levee is changing once again as two new businesses officially open this week.
The businesses were formerly Toro and Star Lanes. The bowling alley and restaurant were bought and rebranded by the Trifecta Management Group of Los Angeles.
AXIS Alley will feature 16 lanes, a lounge space, billiard tables and a sports environment as well as live music. The sports entertainment area will have a video wall with two 70-inch TVs surrounded by four 42-inch TVs. In all, there will be 30 televisions in the bowling alley.
It will also have a kitchen with a menu focusing on pizzas, burgers and shareable appetizers in the $7 to $15 range.
Redondo Taqueria will feature contemporary Mexican food and unique cocktails.
Redondo Taqueria will also feature a menu designed by culinary director Brad Rishmany --- a chef who has cooked at the Super Bowl, Telluride Food and Wine Festival and the White House.
Tacos will be the primary focus of the menu but it will also have tapas, fresh salsa and other Mexican specialties. Entree prices will be in the $8 to $16 range.
The businesses will be side by side on the first level of Newport on the Levee. Axis Alley has already completed its renovation and is open for business.
Redondo will officially open at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
