LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Liberty Center developers on Thursday announced more than 50 new tenants for the $350 million retail, housing and office project now under construction in Butler County.
The list includes the region’s second Lush cosmetics store, its third Build-a-Bear Workshop and Cincinnati-area store number 24 for Graeter’s ice cream. Liberty Center developer Yaromir Steiner has been saying for weeks that 50 new tenants would be announced soon.
Another notable new tenant is Celebrate Local, a Columbus-based retailer that offers Ohio-made products and touts itself as "a champion of local, small businesses." It will be the company's second location. The other is Steiner's Easton Towne Center near Columbus.
"We're excited about it," said Caroline McKinney, economic development director for Liberty Township. "What stands out is the fact that it is something new and different. The business model is unique in that it’s all Ohio and locally-based small businesses and farmers."
Thursday's announcement is the first indication of what kinds of clothing retailers would fill the key in-line slots, which will account for the bulk of annual retail sales generated by the property.
“We are very excited to be formally announcing this first group of great tenants,” said Anne Mastin, vice president of real estate for Steiner + Associates in Columbus. “These retailers, restaurants and entertainment uses, many of which are regional and state firsts, are among the best in the industry and represent just the beginning of the full lineup you can expect to see when Liberty Center opens in October. We will be making several other significant announcements in the weeks and months to come.”
The 64-acre development has previously announced major anchors, including a 200,000-square-foot Dillard’s store and a flagship store by Dick’s Sporting Goods. The project also includes 240 luxury apartments and a 130 room AC Hotel by Marriott.
