Meijer stores have just cut prices on many of the holiday season's hottest toys, firing the first salvo in what's expected to be a hard-fought toy price war this year.
The Michigan-based regional department store announced it has lowered prices on 400 of this year's expected hot toys.
It also plans to release its 18-page holiday gift guide this Sunday, following the lead of Toys R Us, Walmart, and Kmart, which have all published their toy books over the past 2 weeks.
Among Meijer's new lower prices:
-Fisher Price Grow With Me skateboard: Reduced 15 percent from $34 to $29.
-Leap Frog Leapster Explorer rechargeable tablet: Reduced 20 percent from $39 to $32.
These prices are much more competitive with Walmart and Amazon, though they are not necessarily the cheapest prices you will find.
The one certain thing: This is the start of a toy price war, that is sure to get even hotter as Black Friday approaches.
As always, don't waste your money.
