A Cincinnati-based window company has closed its doors, and customers have nowhere to turn for warranty or follow up work.
You may have seen ads for Air-Tite windows, officially Air-Tite Home Products.
They were headquartered in West Chester, Ohio, with offices in Dayton, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Cleveland and Chicago.
Air-Tite sold windows, doors, roofs and other products. They were well known for their extensive telemarketing operations, and competitors say they began to suffer when the Do Not Call List made telemarketing all but impossible.
Competitors tell us the 2008 through 2010 recession also hurt the company's business, from which it was unable to recover.
The Cincinnati Better Business Bureau says Air-Tite has gone out of business, with no contact or forwarding information. Click here for the BBB report or go to www.bbb.org/cincinnati/business-reviews/windows-installation-and-service/air-tite-home-products-in-west-chester-oh-1441/ .
Phones are disconnected at all locations we called, even though the company website makes it look like business as usual.
What You Can Do
Have a warranty issue? Contact the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org and the Ohio Attorney General at 800-282-0515.
If you purchased products shortly before they closed, you may be able to dispute the charge on your credit card.
