WCPO-Digital has partnered with Mercy - The Heart Institute to bring readers a special section celebrating American Heart Month.

Each February, people from all walks of life pay special attention to their hearts. Valentine's Day is Feb. 14, but Heart Month lasts until Feb. 28.

The American Heart Association, health care providers, and men and women whose lives have been affected by heart disease share life-saving information and resources about heart health.

The month begins with Wear Red Day on Feb. 1, when the American Heart Association urges people everywhere to wear red to raise awareness about heart disease in women. Events supporting heart health will take place around the Tri-State throughout February.

This Heart Health page, sponsored by Mercy Health - The Heart Institute  is designed to share information and resources toward better heart health for the Tri-State.
