Dairy Fresh issues voluntary recall of IGA-brand vanilla, chocolate ice cream

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A dairy company is recalling ice cream packs that has been shipped to 10 states.

The ice cream distributor Dairy Fresh is conducting a voluntary recall, after company officials said they believe the product was packed in the wrong containers.

The company is recalling some IGA-brand vanilla and chocolate ice cream. The products are in a 1.75 quart box that don't clearly say Heavenly Hash ice cream contains almonds, coconut and soy.

If you purchased any of Dairy Fresh products, look for the plant  code of 3783. The sell-by date is 8-13-13. The company also is recalling products with sell-by dates between 6-08-13 and 8-27-13.

The recalled effects ice cream was sold in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
