The Beechwood Tigers picked up their third win in four weeks by taking care of business at home on Friday night versus Dixie Heights, 33-28.
It was a big night for senior Max Nussbaum, who showed no signs of a knee injury that hobbled him earlier in the season as he rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns to pace the Tigers. He scored on runs of 63, 36, 51 and 1 yard.
Beechwood (3-3) scored 21 of its 33 points during the first half, but was able to hold off a surging Dixie Heights (1-5) team late in the game to hold on for the win.
Sophomores Drew Moore and Ben Owens did show some promise for the young Colonels in the lass. Moore threw for 199 yards and a TD and Owens had touchdown runs of one and four yards in the loss.
Both teams head back into district play next week as Beechwood hosts Bellevue and Dixie Heights welcomes Campbell County.
