Driven CIA operative Maya (Chastain) heads up the hunt for Osama bin Laden in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, following false leads and running into several dead ends over the course of a decade.

But just when it seems the trail of clues has gone dry, an old piece of evidence leads Maya to a man believed to work directly for bin Laden, who the CIA traces to a large suburban compound in Pakistan.

A U.S. Navy SEAL team is assembled and, after months of surveillance, they move on the compound on May 2, 2011.

The operation is complicated when one of the helicopters crashes, but the SEALs raid the building and find bin Laden on the top floor, killing him.
