Study: Many phones contiminated with fecal matter, new charger could help

CINCINNATI -- Most cellphones are probably host to at least some fecal matter.

According to Time , there's a one-in-six chance that your phone has at least a little bit of poop on it, based on a study at the University of London in 2011.

The study found that 16 percent of phones had some fecal bacteria E. coli on them.

Luckily, Time reports that a new charger is on the market, PhoneSoap , that claims to be able to kill 99.9 percent of the bacteria and viruses on phones.

PhoneSoap was introduced at the International CES in Las Vegas by Dan Barnes and Wesley LaPorte and uses a UV-C light to kill bacteria and viruses.
