Local company pushes to have Cincinnati cornhole event on ESPN 3

MILFORD, Ohio - ESPN has covered a wide world of sports over the years, and a locally owned company is pushing to have a popular backyard game added to the list.

The Milford-based company American Cornhole, LLC wants ESPN 3 to broadcast the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII, which will be held in Cincinnati in July.

In order to make this happen, the company is attempting to raise at least $48,000 in funding by April 29, according to the company's representative, Frank Geers.

The featured events during the four days of competition include the King of Cornhole, the Queen of Cornhole and the World Doubles Championship.

The ACO contest will be held July 16 to July 20.
