CINCINNATI -- Craft beer fans in Cincinnati will have yet another reason to rejoice during Cincinnati Beer Week .
A source at the Lagunitas Brewing Co. who has ties to Cincinnati confirmed to WCPO that the brewery will finally arrive in the Queen City.
Lagunitas’ launch is slated to happen in early February in conjunction with Cincinnati Beer Week.
The first beer to come will be the brewery’s flagship IPA, but other beers “may find their way to Cincinnati sooner rather than later.”
Leading the way will be the “Lagunators,” (the nickname for the company’s sales team,” who will be hosting events throughout February.
The source at the brewery released a remark about the occasion saying, “We are thrilled to be launching in the Queen City and would have come sooner if we only had more beer. Our new brewery in Chicago should help us supply the city with fresh beer for a long time to come.”
Lagunitas is already sold in other Ohio cities but after an incident during its first rollout to the Buckeye State years ago had not to come back to Cincinnati.
Among the Lagunitas brews that fans are hoping for include Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’, a pale wheat ale that is one of the brewery’s top sellers in Ohio.
As of April 2013, Lagunitas was the sixth top-selling brewery in the U.S.
